On the 9th of July, Digital Stereoscopic 3D Production & System Development Company, STEREOPIA(President: Young Lee, URL:http://www.stereopia.com), announced the development of HDTV-class S3D(Stereoscopic 3D) camera system in co-operation with ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute).

This system was developed as a part of core technology to carry out ambitious National Project - << 3D HDTV live-broadcast trial service of Korea-Japan World-cup 2002 >>. STEREOPIA played a pivotal role in developing 1)S3D-HDTV camera; 2)HD S3D monitor that can check stereoscopic 3D motion images during location shooting; and 3)MUX that can compress and mix left-right images at real-time.

Through this system STEREOPIA internationally demonstrated the excellence of the produced HDTV-S3D contents during World-Cup 2002 event.

This system can also make it possible to produce high-definition 1)S3D real-shooting; 2)CG(Computer Graphics); and 3)mix of the real-shooting and CG that was solely capable at Universal Studio and Walt Disney for the past.

In addition, STEREOPIA will continuously concentrate its business drive on HDTV-S3D contents production after developing direct-conversion technique of photographed HD-S3D image to PC-applicable HD-S3D contents that has high marketability and overall compatibility.
